Privacy & Confidentiality

Safe to Say is committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in line with relevant data protection standards, including GDPR and applicable Australian privacy principles. Personal information is collected and used on the basis of consent, to provide services, and to meet professional and legal obligations. Information shared through contact forms or bookings is used only to respond to enquiries, arrange appointments, and provide services. This may include names, contact details, and relevant background information to support your child. Personal information relating to children is provided by a parent or legal guardian. All information is stored securely and accessed only when needed. It will not be shared with third parties unless required by law, where consent has been given, or where there is a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child, in line with safeguarding responsibilities. Your information may be stored or processed outside of your country of residence, with appropriate safeguards in place. While reasonable steps are taken to protect your information, no method of online transmission is completely secure. Records are kept only for as long as required to meet professional and legal obligations, and are securely deleted when no longer needed. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your information, and may withdraw consent where applicable.

Appointments & Cancellations

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations within this timeframe, or missed appointments, may be charged in full. If you need to reschedule, just get in touch as early as possible and we will always do our best to find an alternative. Safe to Say reserves the right to amend or cancel appointments where necessary.

Payment

Payment is required to confirm bookings. All bookings are subject to the cancellation policy. Depending on the service, this may be taken in advance or on the day of the session. Payments are made securely online or via bank transfer. Where refunds are issued, any processing fees may be deducted.

How services are delivered

Safe to Say provides consultation-based speech and language therapy. This means sessions focus on understanding communication within everyday life and supporting caregivers or educators to make practical, effective changes.

Recommendations are tailored to each child, family or setting. Progress can vary depending on individual factors and how strategies are used outside of sessions, so specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Implementation of strategies outside of sessions remains the responsibility of the caregiver or setting. This approach is designed to support meaningful, sustainable change over time, rather than long-term dependency on ongoing sessions.

Private health & funding

Receipts will be provided for all sessions. Coverage for speech and language therapy varies depending on your provider and policy. Safe to Say does not guarantee eligibility for reimbursement, so it is recommended that you check directly with your insurer. Safe to Say is not responsible for any decisions made by insurers regarding claims or reimbursement.

Professional standards

Safe to Say operates in line with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and evidence-based practice relevant to speech and language therapy. Where applicable, services align with CORU professional standards in Ireland and Speech Pathology Australia’s Code of Ethics and Professional Standards. Appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance is in place.
